The Association for Roma Women’s Integration Loli Luludi has concluded, the international project Strengthening the capacities of the non-governmental sector working in the field of the Roma community and the inclusion of Roma women in the work of NGOs, which is co-financed by the Erasmus+ programme (KA210-ADU – Smaller Partnerships in the field of general adult education). The final conference was held on 16th of October 2024, at ROG center, Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Ii partnership with four organizations; EPEKA Association, soc.ent. (Slovenia), Association Co-Efficient (Hungary), Romni APS (Italy) & Center for Interethnic Dialogue and Tolerance AMALIPE (Bulgaria). Within the project, transnational activities were carried out, focusing on the work of the partner consortium and learning about good practices, local activities focusing on direct work with the Roma community, an opening and closing meeting of the partner consortium, and a final conference.
During the final conference, we presented the intellectual outputs available on the Society’s website and explained how they were created. The project has thus produced a compendium of good practices, aimed at transferring practices to different settings, in order to strengthen the capacities of the NGO sector within the EU, which focuses its work on working with the Roma community and the inclusion of Roma women in its activities. The second intellectual output is an interesting series of ten podcasts, which aim to bring the knowledge of Roma culture and the work of Roma communities in different settings to the attention of the general public and educational staff. In the design of the podcasts, we have contacted interesting members of the Roma community and representatives of institutions that have been involved in cooperation with the Roma community for a long time. Within the podcasts, you can listen to personal testimonies, historical information and diverse perspectives on the Roma community.
The final conference was closed with an interactive workshop, where visitors had the opportunity to interact with the Roma community and discuss pressing issues such as integration, integration into the labour market, education, etc. You are cordially invited to take a look at the results and get to know the Roma community in Slovenia and beyond.
