Loli Luludi is a relatively new association, founded on the initiative of women from the Roma community who were attending social activation programmes. Their desire to build on their own skills and to be autonomous decision-makers in planning activities that address the issues that Roma women face in their daily lives was key to the creation of this organisation. The Association is committed to empowering Roma women, because we believe that only in this way can we achieve lasting change in their lives.
Our vision is to create a supportive environment that strengthens the competences and intellectual capacities of Roma women through educational and leisure activities. We want to enable them to participate as equals in the local community, going beyond the traditional family and cultural contexts where Roma women often face patriarchal attitudes that limit their activity and integration.
The Association’s activity is focused both locally and internationally. A key challenge we face is the lack of capacity and skills among Roma women to carry out activities related to the management of the association on their own. We are therefore focusing on strengthening their capacities in order to gradually take over all the tasks related to the leadership and management of the association.
At Loli Luludi Association, we believe in the power of collaboration. We actively network with like-minded organisations at international level, while at the same time implementing local activities aimed at further educating and empowering Roma women. Our aim is to improve the situation of Roma women and the Roma community as a whole, which still faces many challenges such as discrimination, poor access to the labour market and difficulties in educational processes.
